Party Perspectives: Shut Down

In light of the September 30th deadline for Congress to approve a budget extension and keep the U.S. Federal Government running, we asked three politically-oriented student groups on campus to respond to the following question: “What is the most effective response to a government shutdown?” The NU College Republicans (NUCR), the NU College Democrats (NUCD), and the NU Libertarians all responded to the question and have agreed to participate in this online forum to stir thoughtful debate around this pressing national issue.

Responses and subsequent rebuttals prioritize the timeliness of these political conversations over thorough research and editorial consultation.
